About Kendra Decker, FNP
Kendra Decker, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a dedicated and patient-focused family nurse practitioner at Summit Primary Care’s locations in Colorado Springs and La Junta, Colorado. She brings over a decade of extensive experience as a registered nurse to the practice.
Kendra holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Colorado Mesa University and is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Kendra began her career as a Registered Nurse, where she spent 13 years honing her clinical skills and patient care in various healthcare settings, including medical/surgical care, emergency care, intensive care, home hospice, and clinical nursing education. Her passion for providing comprehensive and individualized care led her to further her education and become a family nurse practitioner.
As a novice nurse practitioner, Kendra is eager to bring her vast nursing experience and commitment to patient care into her new role. She is proficient in diagnosing and managing a broad range of health conditions and is particularly skilled in health promotion, disease prevention, health education and counseling. Kendra passionately believes in a patient-centered holistic approach to healthcare, where patient education and empowerment are at the forefront and is dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms of illness or disease.
Kendra is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, American Nurses Association (ANA), and Colorado Nurses Association (CNA) and is committed to lifelong learning to stay updated with the latest advancements in healthcare. Kendra regularly attends national conferences and takes part in continuing education opportunities to stay abreast of the latest advancements in her field. She has made significant contributions to the nursing field through her research work and public presentations. Outside of her professional life, Kendra enjoys spending time with her family and outdoor adventures, including hiking/camping/backpacking, paddle boarding, traveling, cooking, and reading about the latest research and trends in healthcare. As she continues on this journey as a family nurse practitioner, she looks forward to continuing to provide the highest level of care to her patients and furthering her knowledge in the field of family medicine.
